Blizzard’s October 1 beta update is a broad test-build change, not a numbered release version. The official post does not provide a build number in the cited note, so this guide identifies the update by its publication date.

What changed for progression?

The beta character cap moved to level 30. Blizzard also added Excavation Site: Wetlands, listed for levels 26–31, and made Razorfen Downs (25+) and Uldaman (30+) available. Dungeon ranges and the character cap describe different things; the cap remains 30 in these notes.

Dungeon quests now grant less bonus experience beyond normal quest values. If you are using an older beta route built around dungeon quest experience, revisit it before planning a leveling session.

More than a dungeon update

The notes include many class talent and ability changes, quest fixes, professions, PvP costs, interface behavior, and known issues. Read the full Blizzard post before relying on a class-specific interaction. This page highlights broad player decisions and does not reproduce the class changelog.

What to do

  • If you are level 30, use the cap to set expectations; the current beta notes do not say that this is the final launch cap.
  • If your leveling route depends on dungeon quests, check the experience adjustment in the source.
  • If you are testing a class change, compare the live spell or talent behavior with the latest official note and report reproducible issues through Blizzard’s feedback route.
  • Check the October 6 maintenance summary for later fixes confirmed in a separate notice.
