The confirmed WoW Forever beta level cap is 30 in Blizzard’s October 1 development notes. This guide was checked October 8, 2026. Use the latest patch notes to check for later changes before planning a session.
What is the current beta level cap?
The October 1 update allows characters to reach level 30. A beta cap limits what you can test now; it does not establish the final launch progression. If you have reached the limit, look for new activities to test rather than expecting another level from a higher-level dungeon.
For account eligibility and installation, start with the beta access guide. This page focuses on progression once you can play.
Which dungeons opened with the level 30 update?
| Dungeon | Level information in the October 1 notes |
|---|---|
| Razorfen Downs | 25+ |
| Excavation Site: Wetlands | 26–31 |
| Uldaman | 30+ |
These are the newly added or newly accessible dungeons named in that update, rather than the complete beta dungeon list. Read the October 1 update summary for the wider changes.
Can I reach level 31 because Wetlands lists 26–31?
No. The same notes set the character cap at 30. A dungeon’s listed range and your character’s progression limit describe different things. The Wetlands range does not unlock an extra character level.
What should I do after reaching level 30?
Our suggested testing checklist:
- Try a newly available dungeon with a group. Agree on roles and compare the experience with the patch notes. Treat the listed ranges as a starting point, not a guarantee that every encounter suits your group.
- Review your class after the update. Compare tooltips and ability behavior with the official notes; an older Classic guide may describe a different version.
- Test a different role or character. Use the remaining testing time to decide which play style you enjoy before committing to a launch character.
- Record reproducible problems. Note the activity, character level and steps that trigger the issue, then use the official beta discussion and feedback routes.
These are editorial suggestions for using the test, not a tested fastest route or a best-in-slot gear list. If you want to try PvP, the Honor and rank guide explains the progression system.
For objective-based play, the Darkspear Islands battleground guide explains capture points, flag delivery and rewards. Confirm its availability in your current test build before planning a match; the preview’s level range alone does not establish beta access.
How should I plan talents at the beta cap?
Choose advice that names WoW Forever, the current patch and the level it is meant for. A build that requires levels beyond the beta cap cannot be copied in full during this test. Check the allocation against your actual available points and tooltips before resetting talents.
Use our class and talent basics to orient yourself, then compare your class with the official development notes. We have not verified a complete set of level-30 builds or a ranked list of the strongest specializations.
Will the cap rise again, and will my progress carry over?
The cited October 1 notes establish the current cap; they do not announce another increase. Do not treat a community prediction as a confirmed schedule. Check the patch index for a later sourced announcement.
Reaching the beta cap also does not establish a transfer to launch. See the beta progress and wipe explanation and the testing end-date section before making plans around your character.
